Support Options
Two different groups of people will be reading this document for instructions. The first
group is any collection agency running Porcupine Computers Collection Software. If this
is the case you can contact Porcupine Computers directly for support as usual. If on the
other hand you are a client of the above (i.e. your an offsite client trying to dial into the
collection agency) you will have to contact the collection agency in question to arrange
for support. They will contact Porcupine Computers on your behalf. Porcupine
Computers will then contact you directly if need be.
Obtaining Your Activation Key
- If this is the first time TUN is being installed you must obtain your serial number and
activation key via fax or via the Internet.
- Read the instructions enclosed in the white envelope that came with your TUN
software. These instructions will explain how to obtain your activation key.
- You will need to know your Secret Code. It can also be found in the white envelope.
- The easiest way to obtain your serial number and activation key is to use the Internet
option.
- Alternatively, for your convenience, you can fax your Secret Code to Porcupine
Computers attention Keith (see support options above). Your activation key and
serial number will then be faxed back to you.
Choosing Installation and Configuration Method
- There are two methods to install and configure the TUN emulator. A manual method
and an automatic method.
- If you use the original CD that came with your TUN package you will have to use the
manual method.
- If you use the CD sent to you from Porcupine Computers you can use the automatic
installation method. If you do not have this CD and would like a copy, please contact
Porcupine Computers. This CD will be labeled TUN 10.0.1 Automatic Installation.
- You will also need to know whether you are going to be using a modem connection
or a network connection. If you are on a PC in the office and are connected to a HUB
refer to the network instructions. If you are working on a PC outside of the office you
will be using you modem to dial in. In this case refer to the modem instructions.
- Refer to one of the following sections depending on the method you choose:
AUTOMATIC INSTALLATION - MODEM CONNECTION
AUTOMATIC INSTALLATION – NETWORK CONNECTION
MANUAL INSTALLATION - MODEM CONNECTION
